Revenue and EBIT clearly improve in third quarter

Berlin, 16 July 2009 – Revenues and earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of MAGIX AG, Berlin (ISIN DE0007220782) are clearly above those of the previous year according to preliminary numbers. In the first three quarters of the running financial year, which began October 2008, company revenues increased 9% to 24.2 million EUR and EBIT from 0.1 million to 0.6 million EUR.

The third quarter tends to be weak, however MAGIX has profited from repositioning of its release cycle and from newly published products. Business in central and southern Europe appears to have been relatively unaffected by current economic conditions, while the market in northern Europe and in the USA continued to be difficult. Consequently, quarterly revenues versus the previous year increased 17% to 6.9 million EUR. The EBIT improved in the third quarter correspondingly from -1.6 million EUR in the previous year to a current value of -0.4 million EUR.
