Native AVCHD support

MAGIX Video Pro X2 enables native editing of AVCHD recordings.

Thanks to the native integration of the AVCHD format, Video Pro X2 is able to display a real-time preview of the recordings during editing. The original format remains unchanged and quality is not affected.

Open timeline

Thanks to the open timeline, you can import and edit different video formats in SD or HD resolution like DV, HDV, or AVCHD without having to adjust the files to the project settings or convert the files into a proprietary intermediate format.

Support for MAGIX Move Edit Pro project files

Project files created with MAGIX Movie Edit Pro can be imported directly and seamlessly integrated for further editing in MAGIX Video Pro X2.

IMPROVED! Multi-processor support

Optimized for Intel® Core™ i7 prozessors

Optimized for Intel® Core™ i7 prozessors

The combination of Intel Mobile Core i7 and MAGIX Video Pro X brings true mobility and professional-caliber capabilities to moviemakers working in the field. Video Editing on the road or in the field can now achieve the same performance and precision of studio recording, with the launch of Intel Core i7 for laptops and Video deluxe.

Especially the realtime performance of complicated effects such as primary and secondary color correction is only achievable on Intel Core i7. The ability to handle large numbers of tracks and visual effects without slowdowns is greatly enhanced. The responsiveness of our video editing applications, from capture to editing to final rendering, is tremendously improved. Also the MPEG 2/4 de- and encoding process, which is always needed when working with modern video formats, is highly parallelized and fits perfect for the Core i7.

Multi-processor support

Multi-processor support

MAGIX Video Pro X2 uses the advantages of the most modern processor architecture to shorten rendering times of complex projects on multi-processor and multi-core systems. HDV material is scaled uniformly on up to eight CPU cores to produce results faster than ever before.

GPU hardware acceleration

The optimized real-time architecture uses not only the resources from current high-performance processors, but also those of graphics cards to decode HDV video, calculate transitions and effects, and to mix video tracks, overlays, and titles as effectively as possible.

Flexible user interface

MAGIX Video Pro X2 offers a flexible user interface which can be adjusted to any working situation thanks to savable window layouts. Both preview monitors can be enlarged to fullscreen and moved around, e.g. to use multiple monitors more effectively. Even the project folder, the timeline, and the Media Pool can be scaled and moved as separate windows.

Customizable keyboard shortcuts

Customizable keyboard shortcuts

Specify the keyboard shortcuts for all of MAGIX Video Pro X's menu functions however you like. This allows you to adapt existing shortcuts to your requirements or to add new ones. This feature is especially useful for users who have switched from a video editing program from another publisher.

NEW! Efficient 3-point-cut

MAGIX Video Pro X2 now features a 3-point cut function that makes inserting video clips into the timeline even easier.

Choose a position in the arrangement where you wish to insert a clip. Then simply add a start position to the file you want to import. The computer automatically calculates the cut points and precisely fills in the gaps in the timeline.

IMPROVED! MultiCam editing

Up to nine simultaneous camera recordings of events like weddings, concerts, or theatrical performances can be synchronized in MultiCam editing mode. Change the perspective in real-time with a simple mouse-click.
Absolutely unique on the market: time-consuming and manual synchronization of video recordings using visual and sound events is finally a thing of the past. The Multicam editing function automatically synchronizes video objects on the basis of their audio material. For this, their soundtracks are compared for similarities. If videos come from the same recording environment, the same acoustic events will be found on their soundtracks (e.g. clapping the clapper board).

Creating titles

Powerful title editor

Powerful title editor

The integrated title editor allows you to change the size and position of text at any location in the image to create impressive title animations. Production of numerous scrolling and blending effects is especially easy with the help of a range of practical presets, e.g. for captions or subtitles.

3D title effects

3D title effects

The integrated MAGIX 3D Maker transforms any text and shapes into high-quality 3D graphics and animations.

A number of designs and templates in different styles, plus intuitive real-time editing and easy-to-understand tools will quickly help you produce professional results. With MAGIX Video Pro X2 it's easy to create dynamic title animations, spectacular intros & outros, lively decorative elements, and chapter and DVD menu titles.

Precise keyframe functions with Bézier curves

The keyframe editor enables extensive control over video effects in two steps: Quickly access object-based effects settings in the Media Pool and precisely edit Bézier curve control on the timeline directly as required.

Primary and secondary color correction

3-way color correction

3-way color correction

The 3-way color correction function features color wheels with shadows, median values, light, and professional exposure control according to the lift, gamma, and gain principles. Smooth out color errors, highlight naturally present colors, or create a dramatic effect.

Secondary color correction in real-time

Secondary color correction in real-time

The secondary color correction feature also offers the option of 3-way color correction: With secondary color correction you can edit shadows, mids, and brights separately for the foreground, background, and in an extra master layer. The foreground layer features an easy-to-use eyedropper tool. Change, accentuate, or suppress hues - the blue of the sky, the green of a field, or the red of a dress. Thanks to the secondary color correction, it's easy to apply the "Leave color" effect (color pass): e.g. red remains and all other colored objects in the image are displayed in black and white.

NEW! Comparison mode in the source monitor

MAGIX Video Pro X2 features a new comparison mode, which allows you to check your video material before and after editing. This way you can always keep track of your effects editing.

You can compare the raw footage with the fully edited video, as well as individual effects results with each other and with previous or the subsequent versions in the arrangement.

Advanced video editing

Timestretching

Timestretching

In MAGIX Video Pro X2, you can change the length of your video and audio objects simply by stretching and dragging with the mouse. Audio objects maintain their original pitch.

Image stabilization

Image stabilization

Built-in image stabilization balances undesired picture movements. The motion stabilizer equalizes inadvertent movements in the image by moving the image in the opposite direction in accordance with the wrong movements. This produces unusable edges in the footage that are cut off automatically, and black strips replace the edge of the shifted picture, which are then removed using a zoom shot. The result: A clearly more stable, almost imperceptibly larger picture.

Exchange with other postproduction programs

The integrated alpha channel support of AVI files in MAGIX Video Pro X2 enables import of sequences from compositing programs like Jahshaka or After Effects™. Photoshop files with multiple layers can also be imported directly into MAGIX Video Pro X2 projects.

IMPROVED! Video and audio plug-in support

External video and audio plug-in support

External video and audio plug-in support

You can add various video effects plug-ins to the comprehensive effects palette of MAGIX Video Pro X2. The following plug-in formats are supported: "VirtualDub", "VitaScene", and "Adorage" by "proDAD". You can download a selection of tested VirtualDub plug-ins as installer package straight from MAGIX Video Pro X2. Thanks to DirectX plug-ins, audio effects by other manufacturers can also be integrated.

NEW! Direct support of VST audio plug-ins

MAGIX Video Pro X2 now features direct support of VST audio plug-ins. Already existing VST plug-ins can be integrated directly into the audio workflow via DirectX® Wrapper.

The master audio level display, which is integrated directly into the timeline, indicates the total volume at a glance to avoid clipping or and distorted sections in your work.

Real-time audio mixer

MAGIX Video Pro X2 includes a real-time mixer with a master effects section. Besides the effects in the audio object (reverb/echo, timestretch/resample, Surround, etc.), a separate effects rack with equalizer, reverb/echo, compressor as well as plug-ins can be used in every mixer track.

Sample-exact audio editing

The 1/25 second raster in video editing programs is often too rough for audio editing. MAGIX Video Pro X2 features sample-exact audio object editing (e.g. 1/48,000 s) for precise cuts, transitions, and video image synchronization.

Synchronization with external devices

Synchronization with external devices

MAGIX Video Pro X2 can be synchronized with external audio devices via MIDI Machine Control (MMC) and can be used as slave or master.

Receive MMC commands (slave): MAGIX Video Pro X2 follows jog shuttle operations, fast forward and rewind commands of external devices. MAGIX Video Pro X2 additionally receives the current playback position of the device and displays it as an additional blue cursor in the timeline.

Send MMC commands (Master): MAGIX Video Pro X2 operates as Master. The external device follows the time position every time the playback cursor moves to a certain position within the arrangement.

Audio post production in broadcast quality

MAGIX Video Pro X 1.5 supports audio formats, which correspond to the High Definition  standard from Intel. This means that stereo signals at a sampling rate of 192kHz with 32-bit and 8-channel signals at a sampling rate of 96kHz  with 32-bit may be used.

Professional broadcast-quality effects like DeClipping, DeNoiser, DeHisser, equalizer, compressor, stereo effects, echo, reverb, pitchshift, and more help you get the best out of your sound.
