Fully flexible recording & mixing
Includes functions for any project
Sequoia Pro offers tools and workflows for mixing each and every kind of production - from simple stereo radio commentary to complex music productions or movie scores in different multichannel formats. With automatic sample rate conversion and the option to decode compressed audio files in real time, diverse audio formats can be combined with no issues.
Use external hardware effects as plug-ins
Sequoia Pro enables you to make the most of new connectivity for external hardware effects, which can be integrated into your project as effect plug-ins. Not only does this simplify work with effect devices, you can also import as many external effects as you want into your project via the plug-in browser. You'll also experience more creative possibilities and enhanced flexibility for routing, too.
32-bit float recording
Sequoia Pro delivers ultra-clear sound and massive dynamic range for field recordings, interviews and live broadcasts, with native 32-bit float recording and up to 384 kHz sampling rate. Thanks to 32-bit float, setting the gain or adjusting levels is now a thing of the past.
Marker track
Organize your projects more efficiently. Markers are displayed on multiple lines, allowing you to keep an overview of all essential information. You can create markers in different colors, edit them together or move them. It's also possible to assign markers to dedicated tracks, such as a video track. Audio and video markers function independently of each other.
3D Surround editing
Mix your material in 3D audio channel formats with up to 32 channels per track.
3D Surround Panner
The new, clear view in the dialog allows for intuitive control when positioning highs in virtual sound sources.
The positioning of the spatial axis can be automatized in both track and object. The new VBAP positioning mode ("Vector Base Amplitude Panning") enables users to create Surround setup phantom sources with high sound localization acuity. VBAP can be used independently of the number of virtual speakers and in an either 2D or 3D setup.
Surround tracks
Sequoia Pro supports the use of any number of Surround masters in a single project, and up to 32 channels per track.
The Surround master can now be downmixed to the stereo master. Level components for Surround channels can also be freely defined.
Automation lanes
Automated track parameters such as volume, panorama or VST effect parameters can be displayed and operated in lanes inside an audio track. The control elements in the track header offer lots of options for operating and switching the parameters.
Hardware controller
Sequoia Pro supports hardware controllers from SSL, PreSonus, JLCooper, Tascam and Yamaha, as well as all controllers based on Mackie Control and Mackie HUI. Sequoia also works with the Artist Series controllers Artist Mix, Artist Control and Artist Transport.
These controllers are controlled using EUCON protocol and require Windows as operating system. Sequoia Pro is specially designed to work with Avid® Pro Tools | S6 controllers.
Efficient docking options
The docking options let you set up a working environment customized to your needs and offer optimal use of the screen area.
There's also a new project management workflow for a clearer overview with new tabs and the option to switch between projects when several are open.
Multichannel export without Surround master
The practical function for a lightning-fast workflow in Samplitude Pro X. This tool allows you to seamlessly transfer tracks between projects while retaining all the effects, automations, plug-ins and other track properties you want.
VCA fader
Working with VCAs (Voltage Controlled Amplifiers) or DCAs (Digital Controlled Amplifiers) makes mixing and finalizing much easier. Channel levels that are assigned to a VCA group can be controlled using a VCA fader in the mixer in Sequoia Pro.
You can assign as many channel strips as you want to a VCA master fader. Each existing channel strip can also be easily turned into a VCA fader. By displaying "ghost faders", changes resulting from adjustments made in the VCA Master can also be read in the individual channels.
Free plug-in routing
- No more limitations on the sequence of internal effects and VST plug-ins. You can now change the order of the plug-ins any way you want. The only exception is for Object AUX sends – these are still positioned last.
- Internal effects can now be used multiple times per track/object. Exceptions: EQ, Dynamics, Distortion, Delay
- The order of Surround effects can be changed. In this case, the plug-ins in the individual channels are always calculated before the Surround effects. Note: This new functionality is not compatible with the properties of older program versions.
Multiple outputs
For even more flexible routing during mixing, Sequoia Pro lets you easily add or remove additional outputs – you can also assign no outputs to a track. You can also view and select multiple outputs directly in the routing manager.
Different tap points downstream of the volume control (post), upstream of the volume control (pre) or directly after the gain (direct out) make it easier to mix complex music productions.
Automation modes
Sequoia supports the standard automation modes touch, latch, trim and overwrite. Automation curves are displayed graphically and can be easily edited.
In addition to volume and panorama, you can also automate VST instrument parameters and plug-ins on both the track level and object level.
Surround downmix
In the Surround Master you can select "Surround downmix" as an output device and use various presets in the Downmix Matrix. Surround buses can now also be routed to stereo buses. You can also set the Downmix Matrix here. The downmix is factored in during a stereo master bounce project, i.e. you can stereo bounce from a surround project when downmix is adjusted.
Object-oriented editing
Audio material in Sequoia Pro can be split into as many objects as you want and moved around freely on tracks. Each object can be edited with custom fades and effects. Even sending to individual AUX channels and the Surround bus is possible at object level. The object editor provides real-time access to every object setting. All changes are calculated in real time and can be modified whenever you want.
Macro functionality
Being able to manage complex workflows can save you a lot of time during production. Macro functionality in Sequoia Pro enables you to record, program and run custom command sequences. You can assign up to 128 macros to keyboard shortcuts for quick access. It's also possible to run macros through markers in a project.
Excellent sound quality
Highly advanced digital algorithms, outstanding effects plug-ins and continuous use of floating point calculations ensure that the sound retains its nuances, even following extensive digital processing and accumulation of individual signals.
